FAQ - Ask An Editor

No. It doesn't have to be. We work predominantly with new and developing writers and understand that this comes with a small editing budget.

To make this a comfortably affordable process, we edit in sections. You send over 10,000 - 30,000 words at a time, which will be edited and returned within a timeframe determined by you. It is also up to you when you send over the next section.

You can send over the first 1,000 words of your manuscript, and it will be returned, fully edited with additional feedback on areas of interest and where changes could be made to increase readability and marketability.

Yes. I cannot stress this enough. Please reach out to other writers. They will agree it is an invaluable service. Grammar software will only pick up about 20% of what a professional editor will.

No. As we edit in sections, you pay in small sums and NEVER upfront. We return the manuscript section fully edited accompanied by a PayPal invoice. 

No. We use a word count rate. You only ever pay for the number of words you send over at the rate previously arranged, putting you completely in control of how much you spend.

Yes. When you come on board with us, you will be provided with a contract designed to protect your copyright.

All our editors hold either a Bachelor's or a Master’s degree in Creative & Critical Writing. We’ve won awards, have literary publications, written TV documentaries, and lecture at universities. There is a vast amount of knowledge and expertise within our team. We also love what we do and treat every writer and their manuscript with the respect they deserve.  

As much as you would like. Your editor will keep in touch via email and, if you would like, through video calls. All your section edits will be returned with detailed feedback, and if you need any further explanation about the advice given, your editor will be on hand to answer any questions.
