At Scott Editorial, our writing coaching offers more than just advice; it’s a supportive and practical partnership designed to help you grow as a writer and take your work to the next level. Whether you're just starting out, stuck in the middle of a project, or preparing a final draft, we’re here to guide you with expert, personalized support.

Our experienced editors work with you one-on-one to strengthen your story, develop your voice, and build your confidence. We focus on what you need most, whether that’s improving your plot, deepening your characters, polishing your prose, or simply staying on track with your goals.

Coaching with Scott Editorial isn’t about ‘what is included’ but ‘what can we include for you’. Every writer is different, and we want to ensure we are working with your potential, not against it. What is listed below is an idea of what you can expect. However, we want to tailor this to your writing style and needs, so when you’re ready, let us create a coaching package that's all about you.

• First, let us know your genre, and we will match you with the editor who is right for you. Then, we start with a call or an arranged time to have an email chat. This is your opportunity to share your writing goals and discover where we can assist you in developing your writing skills.

• Next comes your individual coaching plan. Here’s what you can expect…

• Writing tasks – 100-500 words. Feedback and a discussion about the task before and after completion. You can have as many writing tasks as you can handle in a month.

• Mentoring over email and all your questions answered.

• 1-hour call to discuss the month. What you’ve learned and where to keep your focus going forward. If you prefer, this can be a brainstorming call.

• Developmental edits performed on all sections written that month.

• A personalized course package. This includes (but not limited to)…

1. A reading list. This will include theory and fiction books, articles, and academic journals.
2. Genre specific guides.
3. Lectures and seminars hosted by Amy Scott.

• Deadlines set for tasks and manuscript sections. Encouragement to meet these deadlines.

Coaching operates on a month-to-month basis and follows a stop-and-go system. At times, you may feel the need for more coaching, and in some months, you might feel you're okay to go it alone. As it says above, this is all about you and what is right for you.

• Monthly rate - £280 (Includes all of the above)

Extras – If you prefer more face-to-face coaching, you can add a video call bundle.

• Block of 4, 1 hour calls - £60 (A saving of £20 against our standard video call rate)
• Block of 6, 1 hour calls - £80 (A saving of £40 against our standard video call rate)
• Block of 8, 1 hour calls - £105 (A saving of £55 against our standard video call rate)
