Free writing session - Sunday 27th July | 1:15pm to 3:45pm
Join us for our first Get It Write event! The idea is simple: show up, write, sip a delicious drink, then chat with writers and editors.
Here's what the Writing Session schedule will look like: a focused writing period (no chatting please!) from 1:15pm to 2:45pm, then if you want to stick around, from 2:45pm to 3:45pm you'll be able to chat with fellow writers, or have a brief sit down with an editor. Please note, the venue closes at 3:45pm, so we ask that you make sure to head out on time.
Our Writing Session is hosted by experienced editors from Scott Editorial at the lovely Suffolk Coffee (on The Prom, above Russell & Bromley Shoes in Cheltenham), and there is no cost to book your place. However, we have been asked by the venue to ensure everyone purchases a drink. That way, we can keep hosting the event for free, and you'll be supporting a wonderful local business.
Suffolk has a selection of coffee, tea, and cakes, as well as juices and water. They also have oat or soya milk if you have dietary restrictions.
While we're all about making literary connections, we're also about giving you the time and space to focus on your writing. Additionally, we want to help you grow and learn as a writer, which is why there will always be an editor on hand to answer any burning questions about your work in progress.
Don't want to show anyone your writing just yet? No problem. Chatting with an editor is completely optional. Plus, there's no limit to what you can work on, or how you can work on it. Bring a laptop, a tablet, or pen and paper. The choice is yours. Just make sure your device is charged and ready to go.
