Christine Cazaly

A Londoner by birth, Christine Cazaly now lives in semi rural West Yorkshire, surrounded by moors, mud, and tough people who go out without coats in the winter.

Never blessed with children, she is married and followed around by a selection of cats and a mad Bordoodle dog by the name of Bingo. She’s also a professional ballroom dance teacher.

Unable to work during lockdown, she turned to a former love of writing fiction, and combined it with another long time addiction, the Tarot.

The result is Tales from the Tarot. A historical fantasy series that covers the gamut of fantasy fiction; from epic quests, to heart breaking choices and swoon worthy romance. If you love your fantasy served with a touch of magic, characters to root for, and formidable challenges, try Tales from the Tarot!

Tales from the Tarot begins in Epera, the Kingdom of Swords. The prequel ‘Seer of Epera’ and the next book, ‘Queen of Swords’ are available now. ‘Page of Swords’ is due late 2023, to be followed by the ‘Knight of Swords’ and the ‘King of Swords’ in 2024.

Reviews

Goodreads Review for Seer of Epera:

Seer of Epera, the prequel to Queen of Swords, is a captivating addition to the Tales from the Tarot series by Christine Cazaly. Set in the enchanting world of Epera, the story revolves around Theda Eglion, the Seer of Epera, burdened with the responsibility of protecting her nation's magic in secrecy.

Cazaly expertly weaves a tale of magic, love, and sacrifice, drawing readers into a world where the mystical and the mundane coexist. Theda's gift of Farsight adds an intriguing element to the narrative, allowing glimpses into the future and foreshadowing the imminent danger facing Epera's magical community.

The author skillfully explores themes of faith and the lengths one would go to protect what they hold dear. Theda's inner conflict, torn between her duty as a Seer and her love for her daughter Briana, creates a compelling emotional journey. The dynamics between the characters are well-developed, and their struggles and ambitions add depth to the story.

Cazaly's prose is richly descriptive, painting a vivid picture of Epera's magical landscape and courtly intrigues. The pacing is well-balanced, with suspenseful moments that keep readers engaged from start to finish. The story's seamless integration with the larger series makes it a must-read for fans of the Tales from the Tarot series, while also serving as an enticing introduction for new readers.

Seer of Epera is a captivating tale that immerses readers in a world of magic and mystery. Christine Cazaly's exquisite storytelling and well-crafted characters make this prequel a delightful addition to the series, leaving readers eager for more. If you enjoy enthralling tales of magic and intrigue, Seer of Epera is an absolute must-read.
