Originally from the Scottish Highlands, Ellie holds an MA in Classics from the University of St Andrews, where she developed a deep appreciation for storytelling, character and the ways language conveys emotion and meaning.
Ellie specialises in Romance, particularly stories featuring morally grey characters, complicated relationships and unconventional love stories. She also works across Fantasy, Mythology, Historical and Literary Fiction, Gothic Horror, Psychological Thrillers, Science Fiction, Crime and writing for younger audiences. Her non-fiction expertise includes History, Philosophy, Religion and Spirituality, and the Arts.
Ellie takes a careful, collaborative approach to editing, working closely with writers to understand their vision and strengthen the emotional depth, clarity and authenticity of their work. Her aim is always to help the story on the page reflect the one its author intended to tell.
